The Runes of Magic crafting system allows you to learn and handle all the professions at the apprentice level. But there’s a limit to how high each profession can ultimately be, choose wisely!
Apprentice (1-20 skill) : All professions can be learned at the Apprentice level.
Craftsman (21-40 skill) : Only 6 of the professions can be learned at the Craftsman level.
Specialist (41-60 skill) : Only 3 of the professions can be learned at the Specialist level.
Master (61 skill+) : Only one of the professions can be learned at the master level.
Again, what this means is -
You can be a Master in one profession.
You can be a Specialist in two professions.
You can be a Craftsman in three professions.
You can be a Apprentice in everything else.
Professions can be split in two categories : collecting and crafting.
Gathering/Collecting
Those activities are the foundation of the crafting system. Without being able to collect the basic ingredients you need, you can’t craft anything.
Mining : All sorts of minerals, useful for armors and more.
Woodcutting : All sorts of wood, useful for weapons and more.
Herbalism : All sorts of plants, useful for cooking, alchemy and more.
...and someday, allegedly, there will be fishing.
Crafting
Alchemy : You can make a wide variety of potions.
Armor : You can make leather, chain, and plate armors.
Blacksmithing : You can make a wide variety of weapons.
Carpenty : You can make bows and staves.
Cooking : You can make a variety of foods that give special temporary buffs.
Tailoring : You can make Cloth armor and cloaks.
Recipes
As your crafting skills increase, and you need to make items requiring more skill to continue your advancement, you need to learn more recipes. Basic recipes can be obtained from the craft's trainers. Advanced recipes can be found while hunting, and are often for sale in the Auction House.
